What an absolutely brilliant day! The sun was shining, the atmosphere was electric, and the Cheadle community was out in full force for this year’s Party in the Park.
To everyone who dropped by The Oak Project stall to say hello—thank you! We were completely blown away by the enthusiasm, the words of encouragement, and the sheer number of people ready to throw their support behind saving our Grade II listed coaching inn.
Our Tombola was a massive hit, with some fantastic prizes finding new homes. Most importantly, the generosity you showed was incredible. Every single ticket purchased has gone straight into our Phase 1 fund, bringing us one step closer to buying The Royal Oak and putting it back in the hands of the community.
Beyond the fundraising, the best part of the day was simply chatting with all of you in the sun. We loved answering your questions about the project, hearing your ideas for the community café and arts gallery, and listening to your amazing memories of the pub’s history. Seeing so many people eager to volunteer and get involved proves exactly why Cheadle’s high street deserves this regeneration.
The momentum is building, but the clock is still ticking!
